My work covers WordPress development, PHP, JavaScript, WooCommerce, website maintenance and technical troubleshooting. I like the practical side of the job: understanding how an existing system works, finding the cause of a problem, and building something that makes it work better.
My background
I've worked on a wide range of websites and digital projects, both independently and alongside established development teams.
My experience includes WordPress development, WooCommerce, custom PHP and JavaScript functionality, technical troubleshooting and maintaining existing systems.
I'm comfortable working with established codebases, understanding how things fit together and making improvements without disrupting what is already working. Alongside building new websites, I have spent a significant amount of time maintaining and improving live systems where reliability and attention to detail matter.
What I work with
- WordPress. Website development, theme changes, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- PHP. Server-side development and changes to existing functionality.
- JavaScript. Front-end behaviour and interactive functionality.
- HTML and CSS. Responsive layouts, styling and implementation.
- WooCommerce. Online shop development and improvements.
- Hosting and VPS management. The server behind a site: updates, backups and performance.
I am used to working in established codebases that have to stay available while the change is made.
How I work
I prefer straightforward communication and clearly defined work. I ask questions until I understand the problem, explain what I recommend, and agree the scope before I start. If there is a simpler answer than rebuilding the site, I will say so.
You liaise with me. There is no account manager between you and the development.
